Ahmed Attia Is an animation director, storyboard artist, and 2D animator.

Born in Egypt and based now in Ontario, Canada, he worked in the animation career since 1993.

He started as a 2D animator and then became a storyboard and layout artist for several TV series and commercials. In 1999, he began his career as an animation director, he directed many animation series for TV and famous title sequences in Egypt:

“Ghaby meno fih “(Natural born Fool) and “Ma2lab dot com” (Prank dot com).

Attia always aimed to make meaningful art through his animations and which would also beloved by children.

A dream came true in 2009 when he won the international children Jury prize for his TV series “Sokar and Bangar” in Cairo international children film festival.

Also in 2010, He won the silver prize for Best Animation Film for his short film

“A very Important Film” from the children Jury at Chinh India International Film festival. Another award was dedicated to the short film “Ghalat , Maysahesh ,Eib” in 2013 when it received the Jury Prize for Best Animation film at the National Film Festival of Egypt.

Later in 2016 Attia received an invitation to participate with his new short film “Wiza world” in the panorama of Melbourne international Animation film festival in Australia where the film was screened at the festival events.

Attia was looking to use new styles and new techniques in animation as he directed a variety of animation styles (2D and 3D) so in 2010 hi direct the 3D animation series “Please, Got me right”.

He is always keen to update his skills, so he participated in several workshops: -In 2007, he attended the Scriptwriting for children workshop ‘Prix Jeunesse’ workshop presented by Susanne Rieschel, ZDF.

-In 2012:he was Invited by CFI (the international French channel) Marrifa Program to participate in the conference «Digital change and television: new educational challenges» in Morocco in May 2012.

-In October 2012, he was invited again to the “CFI Maarifa” program serving education program in partnership with one of the largest animation studios in Europe: La Cartoucherie (Folimage Studio ) in France.

Attia also played an important role in the arts and culture sector in Egypt in general and in the animation field in particular as he was a board member in the children committee at the supreme council for the ministry of Culture and one of the main organizers of the Cairo International Animation Forum.

In 2018, he moved to Canada where he got the chance to work with Newrealm studios as he restarted there as a 2D animator then storyboard artist and character designer then finally he is currently an animation director for 2 projects in the studio: “Magic story cape” and “ Fable Stories”.

Attia is a knowledgeable and talented animation artist with an open spirit to learn and explore new experiences and looking forward to more opportunities to reach new horizons in the animation world.
